Wine knowledge has always been gatekept behind expensive sommelier courses or unreliable Googling. Someone standing in a wine shop or sitting at a restaurant table had no reliable way to get expert guidance in the moment. And the tools that existed were either too shallow, poorly designed, or scattered across multiple apps. The opportunity was to build one elegant experience that covered the whole wine lifestyle: discovery, knowledge, tracking and sharing.
VineToast is a full-featured React Native app for iOS and Android, built on a secure managed backend with a leading AI model behind the intelligence layer. The AI sommelier chat answers any wine question in plain language, from pairings to serving temperatures, on a freemium model. The label scanner photographs a bottle and returns its name, producer, vintage, region, grape variety, price range and a pairing suggestion in seconds.
The cellar tracker logs every bottle's purchase price and current value, with an investment card showing total value, cost basis, gain or loss and ROI at a glance. The Wednesday Table delivers a new restaurant-quality pairing every week. The Vault holds 30 world-class pairings behind the premium tier, and Occasion Cards let users personalise and share branded wine greeting cards for 34 celebration types.
